New book presents latest research on neuroendocrine physiology

In this volume an international group of basic and clinical investigators presents their latest research on neuroendocrine physiology, advances in the control of the onset of puberty and its disorders, and basic and clinical aspects of the GH/IGF-1 and hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axes. More than one third of Americans are considered obese and approximately 15 million (5%) Americans now have a body mass index greater than 40. InflaRx announced today the successful completion of its recent clinical phase I study investigating its lead drug candidate IFX-1, a new first in class monoclonal antibody inhibiting complement driven inflammation. The trial reached its anticipated endpoints, demonstrating that IFX-1 is safe and well tolerated while displaying desirable PK and PD parameters.

Trastuzumab results promising for HER-2 positive breast cancer patients

Researchers have shown that patients who receive trastuzumab at the same time as post-chemotherapy radiation treatments for HER-2 positive breast cancer have no more risk for major side effects or complications than those who do not receive the drug.
