Children of mothers who follow a healthy lifestyle have a substantially lower risk of developing obesity than children of mothers who don't make healthy lifestyle choices, finds a study published in The BMJ.
The European Association of Urology reiterated that it does not recommend a mass screening policy in Europe for men who are concerned over prostate cancer, a stance which reflects the position it issued last year regarding prostate cancer screening. "We don't believe that the time has come for mass screening," said EAU Secretary General.
A mosquito-borne disease often known as "break-bone fever" has found a new enemy in a unique type of mouse.
Australian researchers say children who are anxious can also suffer from night-time fears and restless sleep - the researchers from Macquarie University's Centre for Emotional Health say the problems may be more evident in school time.
A UCLA team has developed an easy-to-use "risk calculator" that helps predict heart failure patients' chances of survival for up to five years and assists doctors in determining whether more or less aggressive treatment is appropriate.
