Vical Incorporated today announced the pricing of an underwritten public offering of 15,000,000 shares of its common stock at a price to the public of $2.25 per share. The gross proceeds to us from this offering are expected to be approximately $33.8 million, before deducting underwriting discounts and commissions and other estimated offering expenses payable by us. The offering is expected to close on or about September 29, 2010, subject to customary closing conditions.
Wednesday's release of the WHO, UNICEF and the World Bank joint report on childhood vaccines highlighted gains in recent global vaccination campaigns and also found that nearly 24 million infants worldwide don't get the recommended first-year vaccination.
One year post-surgery, patients who underwent Descemet's stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK) experienced greater cell loss overall compared to those who underwent penetrating keratoplasty (PKP), according to a new analysis of data collected from the Cornea Donor Study (CDS) Investigator Group's 2008 Specular Microscopy Ancillary Study (SMAS). However, the study, published in the March issue of Ophthalmology, showed that cell loss in DSAEK patients plateaued more quickly than in those who underwent PKP.
