Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced that the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has granted Breakthrough Therapy designation to nintedanib, an investigational therapy currently under FDA review for the treatment of people with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).
A team led by researchers at the RIKEN Biofunctional Synthetic Chemistry Laboratory in Japan has developed a way to engineer glycan complexes-clusters of sugar chains attached to proteins or lipids-in a way that allows the molecules to be transported preferentially to specific organs of the body, depending on the sugar chains contained in the cluster.
Early-life exposure to traffic-related air pollution was significantly associated with higher hyperactivity scores at age 7, according to new research from the University of Cincinnati (UC) and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center.
