The much-talked-about Google Glass - the eyewear with computer capabilities - could potentially save lives, especially in isolated or far-flung locations, say scientists. Exposure to the widely used chemical bisphenol A during pregnancy, even at levels lower than the regulated "safe" human exposure level, can lead to changes in circadian rhythms, according to a mice study to be presented Monday at ENDO 2019, the Endocrine Society's annual meeting in New Orleans, La. The researchers report these changes may be a contributing factor in hyperactivity seen in BPA-exposed mice.
Dune Medical Devices today announced the completion of patient enrollment in the MarginProbeâ„¢ pivotal clinical trial. The MarginProbe procedure provides surgeons with real-time detection of cancer at the edges of the tissue removed during breast conservation surgery (BCS), which is the only way to ensure the complete removal of the tumor from the breast. The randomized, controlled trial includes 664 women who underwent BCS at one of 21 leading medical facilities, with 18 in the US and three in Israel.
