Canadians are seeking credible information concerning the H1N1 (human swine flu) virus. As a leading Canadian source of ealth information, www.medbroadcast.com has launched a one-stop comprehensive national H1N1 (human swine flu) Influenza Health information centre (www.medbroadcast.com/H1N1). This information centre will help meet the needs of Canadians in search of useful, credible, and accurate H1N1 information.
According to a new literature review in the February issue of the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, a team-based care approach (consisting of the patient, family members, the orthopaedic surgeon and other medical practitioners) on total knee replacement (TKR) procedures, in conjunction with newer pain management strategies, is key to maximizing patient outcomes.
Even as the federal and some state-based insurance marketplaces falter, enrollment numbers in some state-based exchanges are exceeding expectations - including nearly 49,000 in Washington state alone. But some places, like Oregon, are dealing with technical problems that are forcing officials there to hand-process applications.
Every year around 157,000 children aged 11-15 start smoking - that's enough to fill 5,200 classrooms or make up nearly 14,000 junior football teams. These shocking figures, revealed in a new analysis by Cancer Research UK, highlight the ongoing scale of the tobacco problem, and underline the importance of sustained action to discourage young people from starting to smoke, including by introducing plain packaging for all tobacco products as soon as possible.
RXi Pharmaceuticals Corporation today announced that Stephen J. DiPalma, has resigned as Executive Vice President of Business Operations and Chief Financial Officer to pursue other opportunities, effective August 28, 2009.
