A SHORT animated video inspired by the real-life experiences of TV star Rita May while she underwent radiotherapy treatment at Weston Park Hospital has been launched to improve awareness of the life-saving treatment.
The Montreal Neurological Institute of McGill University, a world-leading institution focused on brain research and advanced patient care, and Thermo Fisher Scientific, the world leader in serving science, today announce an agreement designed to accelerate the understanding of neurological disease by focusing on about 30 proteins associated with Parkinson's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), hereditary spastic paraplegias, epileptic encephalopathies and ataxias, which are all devastating brain diseases.
Establishing condom distribution programs in Caribbean prisons and allowing conjugal visits for married prisoners could help reduce sex among inmates and slow the spread of HIV, Marcus Day, adviser to the Association of Caribbean Heads of Corrections and Prison Services, said recently, AFP/Google.com reports.
