Prostate cancer, the most common form of cancer in U.S. men, is also one of the most treatable: 90 percent of patients who undergo intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) in the early stages are disease free after five years, according to the journal Seminars in Radiation Oncology.
To date, there is no drug approved for medical therapy of chordoma patients. Supporting research for chordoma (a very rare cancer arising from the skull base or the spine and affecting only one person in a million per year) was the focus of talks that took place on 30 April 2015 at the European Medicines Agency in London.
