Amsterdam Molecular Therapeutics, a leader in the field of human gene therapy, today released data showing that its gene therapy Glybera® (alipogene tiparvovec) significantly reduces the risk of pancreatitis in patients with Lipoprotein Lipase Deficiency (LPLD). Pancreatitis, or inflammation of the pancreas, is a major clinical symptom of LPLD.
A new study has shown that COVID-19 patients admitted to the Intensive care unit may be resistant to the naturally occurring anticoagulant Heparin. The study titled, "Heparin resistance in COVID‑19 patients in the intensive care unit," was published in the latest issue of the Journal of Thrombosis and Thrombolysis.
