The Convergent Procedure, a novel approach to treat atrial fibrillation (AF), enabled by epicardial ablation products from nContact Surgical, Inc., was highlighted at the Techno-College Atrial Fibrillation Session of the EACTS (European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery) Annual Meeting in Geneva, Switzerland. More than 1,000 medical professionals attended the 2010 Techno-College Programme to receive an update on the latest technical advancements in cardiothoracic surgery.
Cholinesterase inhibitors, used to treat cognitive symptoms of Alzheimer's disease, are also a safe and effective alternative therapy for the behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia, according to a study that appears in the December 2008 edition of Clinical Interventions in Aging.
