A team of Virginia Commonwealth University researchers has received a National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases grant totaling nearly $7.3 million for a Cooperative Research Center to study various aspects of asthma and allergic disease.
A review of 35 studies of early-onset schizophrenia-spectrum psychosis (EOS) identified the most common psychotic symptoms and the disorders that most often co-occur in children and adolescents with EOS.
The GAVI Alliance has "announced a major new initiative aimed at engaging private sector leaders: the GAVI Matching Fund," through which "the British Government's Department for International Development (DFID) and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will provide a 100 percent match of contributions to GAVI from corporations and foundations as well as their customers, members and employees," Bill Roedy, former CEO of MTV Networks and a GAVI Alliance envoy, writes in a post on the Huffington Post's "Impact" blog.
A new study published in the Journal of the American Osteopathic Association suggested that the concussion symptoms suffered by adolescent female athletes last twice as long as their male counterparts.
