The British Medical Association (BMA) is supporting today's Appeal Court Ruling on the GMC's guidance: 'Withholding and withdrawing life-prolonging treatment: good practice in decision-making'.
In a year when COVID-19 threatens the health and well-being of everyone on the planet, the seventy-fourth session of the World Health Assembly (WHA) will stress the urgency of ending the current pandemic and preventing the next one by building a healthier, safer and fairer world.
Kent L. Klaudt, a partner in the national plaintiffs' law firm Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, LLP, announced that James Cabral today filed a personal injury lawsuit against Zimmer Inc., the nation's largest producer of orthopedic devices. Cabral has suffered constant and devastating pain for over 18 months and will have to undergo a second hip replacement surgery due to an allegedly defective hip implant manufactured and sold by Zimmer under the brand name Durom Cup.
The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses recently awarded its first $50,000 AACN Impact Research Grant to Ruth Kleinpell, PhD, RN-CS, FAAN, director, Center for Clinical Research, Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, and professor, Rush University College of Nursing.
Morphine and other opioids are widely used to treat both acute and chronic pain – yet their benefits are often limited because some people experience side effects or do not respond to them efficiently.
