As many as 37 percent of all prostate cancers are detected late or in advanced stages in the UK, finds a new report from the charity Orchid. The report suggests that most of these cancers are detected at stages 3 and 4. Statistics show that nearly 47,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer annually and 11,000 succumb to the disease each year.
A team of researchers from the Harvard School of Public health (HSPH) and the Children's Hospital in Boston have found that children who spend more time watching TV were more likely to eat more of the calorie-dense, low nutrient foods advertised on television.
Needing to ride in a wheelchair can put the brakes on myriad opportunities - some less obvious than one might think. New research from Michigan State University sheds light on the bias people have toward people with disabilities, known as "ableism," and how it shifts over time.
The first patient has now been enrolled into the Phase 1 clinical trial sponsored by Viral Genetics' and supported by a donation from Scott and White Foundation. The trial will study Metabolic Disruption Technology (MDT) compounds in combination with an existing cancer therapy to treat drug-resistant ovarian cancer.
