Without an audience, men run slower and women faster: The lack of spectators during the coronavirus pandemic appears to have had a noticeable effect on the performance of athletes at the 2020 Biathlon World Cup, a new study by Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (MLU) in Psychology of Sport and Exercise shows. According to the new analysis, women also performed better in complex tasks, such as shooting, when an audience was present while men did not.
Researchers have developed a mathematical formula based on the rhythmic movement of a sperm's head and tail, which significantly reduces the complexities of understanding and predicting how sperm make the difficult journey towards fertilising an egg.
In celebration of World Sleep Day, Royal Philips today released its report, "Unfiltered Sleep: A Global Prioritization Puzzle," which showcases the results of an international survey conducted online in February by Harris Poll on behalf of Philips.
Some studies indicate that death rates from heart attacks and stroke as well as non-heart-related causes spike during the holiday season.
