The University of California, San Diego Medical Center along with nine other clinical research institutions across the United States has completed the largest randomized clinical trial to date comparing two commonly performed surgical procedures to treat urinary stress incontinence.
A new study has shown there is an urgent need for more children to take part in clinical trials to make sure medicines can be licensed for their safe and effective use.
STEMCELL Technologies Inc. (STEMCELL) is pleased to announce the release of TeSR™2, a defined, animal-protein free maintenance medium for human embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cells. This medium takes a step towards addressing the needs of researchers working towards the culture of their cells in a medium free of animal-derived proteins.
Infertility is common among obese women, but the reasons remain poorly understood and few treatments exist. Now a team of Johns Hopkins Children's Center scientists, conducting experiments in mice, has uncovered what they consider surprising evidence that insulin resistance, long considered a prime suspect, has little to do with infertility in women with type-2 diabetes, polycystic ovary syndrome and metabolic syndrome, all obesity-related conditions.
