In a study published in the January 18 issue of Cell, researchers from the University of North Carolina Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center have developed a new method to visualize aging and tumor growth in mice using a gene closely linked to these processes.
At the 1st ECRC "Franz-Volhard" Symposium on September 7, 2012 at the Max Delbr-ck Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC) in Berlin-Buch, Professor Ken Bernstein reported that in mice an excess of ACE led to a much stronger immune response than usual.
The Wall Street Journal: "Three leading health-care providers in Colorado's Front Range region recently teamed up in an electronic health-record exchange program that will allow them to share data on more than a million Colorado residents. … The three [health systems] have agreed to share their records on a secure network that will allow clinics, doctors' offices and hospitals to exchange data on common patients instantly, including lab reports, radiology images and medical history" (Landro, 4/13).
ZOLL Medical Corporation, a manufacturer of medical devices and related software solutions, has received Shonin approval from the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) to enter the Japanese market with its Intravascular Temperature Management (IVTM) technology—the first intravascular temperature management system to receive Shonin approval in Japan.
