A study led by Dr Emma Sweeney and Adjunct Associate Professor Christine Knox, from QUT's Institute of Health and Biomedical Innovation, with colleagues at the University of Queensland, showed that the growth of some microbes was inhibited for up to 24 hours following breastmilk and saliva mixing.
An innovative new partnership between the University Health Network and the University of Toronto's Banting & Best Diabetes Centre will enhance diabetes education, research and patient care and expand the search for a cure.
Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Montserrat and Saint Kitts and Nevis were today certified by the World Health Organization as having eliminated mother-to-child transmission of HIV and syphilis.
