A new online system from the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies will help life sciences companies deliver life-saving products to market faster by simplifying the process for obtaining clinical trial liability insurance documentation. The new system, Chubb WORLDcert, allows drug and medical device developers to quickly secure required insurance documentation for clinical trials around the globe.
H.R. 3, the Elijah E. Cummings Lower Drug Costs Now Act passed by the House of Representatives today introduces critically needed and significant steps to reduce costs and improve access to life-saving therapies for conditions including HIV and hepatitis C.
Children with hearing loss who are diagnosed by 3 months of age and receive interventions by 6 months develop a far greater vocabulary than those whose diagnosis and treatment come later, according to a CU Boulder study published this week in the journal Pediatrics.
Traditionally, first-year medical students are awarded white coats to signify their entry into the medical community. But at an Aug. 6 ceremony, each member of the UC Irvine School of Medicine's incoming class of 2014 will find a surprise tucked into the coat's pocket: an iPad tablet computer pre-loaded with everything necessary for the first year of course work.
While the results of smoking may be expected to decrease fitness, new research, published in Respirology, has found that smokers are less physically active, lack motivation and are more likely to suffer symptoms of anxiety and depression.
