The first known attempt to evaluate the sleep patterns of children with Asperper Syndrome (AS), taking into account sleep architecture and the cyclic alternating pattern (CAP), finds that children with AS have a high prevalence of some sleep disorders and mainly problems related to initiating sleep and sleep restlessness together with morning problems and daytime sleepiness, according to a study published in the November 1 issue of the journal SLEEP.
The Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation today announced the grand prize winner of its You Can Save a Life Video Awareness Contest. The student competition invited teams to submit videos about the impact of sudden cardiac arrest and the importance of CPR and automated external defibrillators, empowering students and communities to make a difference in helping to save lives.
Researchers at the University of Calgary Health Technology Assessment Unit investigated scientific evidence on various surveillance and testing methods to monitor the presence of the virus in a vaccinated population.
"For too long, global health funding has gone to diseases like AIDS with the most vocal lobby groups and not to the diseases with the greatest need," Philip Stevens, a senior fellow at International Policy Network, writes in a Business Daily opinion piece.
Academic performance and level of career commitment as an undergraduate are important predictors of who subsequently enters the profession and for commitment in practice says the final report from the Longitudinal Cohort Study of Pharmacy Careers published today by the Pharmacy Practice Research Trust.
