The Automation Partnership (TAP), a world leader in the design and development of innovative automation for life science applications, today announced CompacT SelecTâ„¢ automated cell culture system is being installed at a prestigious, new US defence facility, to produce high quality cell lines in containment conditions.
Ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease are idiopathic (we don't know the cause) inflammatory diseases (IBD) of the colon and/or small bowel. They are chronic in that we do not have a medical cure and are differentiated from IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) by inflammation that causes ulcerations of the GI tract.
Hair grows quickly and is continually replenished which makes it an attractive source to harvest the amount of stem cells needed for treatments, but this, along with controversy surrounding the ethics of harvesting cells from embryos, has been a major stumbling block of stem cell research.
Supporting clinical training programs that develop language skills and cultural competence and forgiving educational loans for psychology graduates who have this kind of training can help meet the critical need for mental health providers to care for Latinos and other underserved populations, said leaders of Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology, who spoke at the state Health Disparities Council meeting earlier this week.
