Teva Women's Health, Inc., a U.S.-based subsidiary of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd., today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has accepted for filing its New Drug Application for Quartette (levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradiol tablets and ethinyl estradiol tablets).
Researchers at the University of Chicago have found that a recently discovered biological process known as sumoylation - until now thought to be active only in the nucleus - also occurs near the cell's surface where it regulates at least one and possibly many kinds of proteins, providing a novel target for the development of new drugs.
The Good News Care Center, located in Florida City, is pleased to announce a $50,000 grant received from Health Foundation of South Florida for the Coming Home: ER Diversion and Medical Homes Project, an initiative that increases the provision of primary care services, and integrates primary and tertiary medical care intervention with health education.
The call to eliminate all funding for HIV/AIDS vaccine research and prevention programs and "shifting" those funds to the expansion of HIV/AIDS treatment is a "dangerous sentiment" that is "sweeping over the AIDS establishment," Laurie Garrett, a senior fellow for global health at the Council on Foreign Relations, writes in an International Herald Tribune opinion piece.
