Carolina Conceptions, an infertility practice in Raleigh, NC, announces IRB approval to commence a study on egg freezing - a newer technology that is growing in demand. While embryo and sperm freezing have been the standard of care for decades, egg freezing has been slower to achieve the same level of success.
Use of a lower intensity bone marrow transplantation method showed promising results among 30 patients (16-65 years of age) with severe sickle cell disease, according to a study in the July 2 issue of JAMA.
