Increasing its ability to provide patients with the highest quality of care, Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta has installed the country's first InfinixTM VF-i vascular X-ray system with the 12" x 12" mid-sized flat panel detector (FPD) from Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc. The new mid-sized FPD system is equipped with Toshiba's Next Generation Advanced Image Processing (AIP) capabilities and marks the fourth Toshiba Infinix-i system installed by Piedmont Hospital.
The plans for a monitoring study on patients being treated with Pentosan Polysulphate (PPS) for CJD and variant CJD have received a favourable opinion from the Eastern Multi-Centre Research Ethics Committee. This follows a provisional opinion from the committee in August.
Earlier today, Anthem Blue Cross agreed to a request by the California Department of Insurance to postpone a rate adjustment for individual members in California by two months to allow the Department additional time for review. To avoid confusion for our members, this delay will impact all Anthem individual members regulated at either the state Department of Insurance or the Department of Managed Health Care.
