Researchers in the Centre for the History of Medicine at the University of Warwick are investigating the impact of solitary confinement in prisons on mental health over the last 150 years, drawing on archival evidence, including the Howard League Archives held at Warwick University's Modern Records Centre, and the memoirs of real prisoners.
Generex Biotechnology Corporation today announced presentation of additional results from a recently completed Phase I clinical trial of its novel immunotherapeutic peptide AE37 in prostate cancer patients. AE37 is a synthetic cancer vaccine being developed by Antigen Express, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Generex, for multiple cancer indications.
In today's economy, traveling to see renowned educators and authors speak at national conferences and seminars is no longer an option for many K-12 educators. Beginning this month, however, educators will have the opportunity to hear from nationally recognized experts in education, technology and neuroscience with the launch of a new series of Virtual Brain Seminars presented by Scientific Learning, makers of the Fast ForWord and Reading Assistant family of products.
Although the researchers found that the rats tested negative for the virus, they say it is important to continue monitoring animals for the virus as it mutates, making previously resistant species susceptible to infection.
