Teleflex Incorporated, a leading global provider of medical devices for critical care and surgery, today announced the acquisition of Eon Surgical, Ltd., a late stage development company that has advanced a minimally invasive microlaparoscopy surgical platform technology designed to enhance surgeons' ability to perform scarless surgery while producing better patient outcomes.
Beginning Sunday, Jan. 31 and continuing until Friday, Feb. 5, the spire atop Fifth Avenue Place will be illuminated red as the health insurer supports the American Heart Association's "Go Red for Women" campaign. The campaign brings awareness to heart disease, the number one killer of women.
The GABRIEL project, funded through an EC Framework 6 grant, involves over 150 scientists from 14 European countries and Russia, using the latest research across a variety of disciplines, including genetics, epidemiology and immunology, to identify key factors in the development of asthma bronchiale.
The Republican-controlled legislature overrode Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon's veto to enact one of the most stringent waiting periods in the nation that includes no exception for cases of rape or incest.
