Trio Health today announced the launch of the TH-PAH database for patients with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension.
Teleflex Incorporated, a leading, global provider of medical technology products, today reported financial results for the three months ended March 27, 2011.
The Wall Street Journal: Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., "is trying to find one additional Republican senator to vote for a $7.4 billion" health care bill for Ground Zero workers. The bill would "re-open a victim-compensation fund and provide 10 years of health tracking and treatment for those who have become sick from exposure to the toxic dust and debris of the World Trade Center site. A test vote on the bill is expected Wednesday" (Barrett, 12/6).
Researchers have used the zebrafish (Danio rerio) to identify the role of a gene involved in cardiac rhythm, which could help explain the fundamentals of what it takes to make a human heartbeat.
Writing in the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation's "Impatient Optimists" blog, Gary Darmstadt, head of the Family Health Division of the foundation, examines the Jadelle Access Program, announced last week, which aims to "reduce the price of Jadelle and make this effective, long-acting, reversible contraceptive more available to more than 27 million women in the world's poorest countries."
