Preliminary Phase 3 clinical study results of T-Pred released

ISTA Pharmaceuticals, Inc., today announced preliminary results from two recently completed studies on its investigational ophthalmic product, T-Pred (prednisolone acetate 1.0% and tobramycin 0.3% ophthalmic suspension). The Company is developing T-Pred as a treatment for inflammatory ocular conditions for which a corticosteroid is indicated and where bacterial ocular infection exists, or there is a risk of bacterial infection.

Study on disparities in survival of cancer patients from different socioeconomic groups

A new analysis from Canada has found that cancer patients from poorer communities have a greater chance of dying prematurely than individuals from more affluent backgrounds even though cancer stage at time of diagnosis is similar across socioeconomic groups. Published early online in CANCER, a peer-reviewed journal of the American Cancer Society, the study indicates that efforts are needed to understand and reduce disparities in the survival of cancer patients from different socioeconomic groups.
