SuiteMed EHR package customised to receive patient data from ALR Technologies' Health-E-Connect system

SuiteMed Solutions, a NC Triad healthcare technology company, announces it is customizing their SuiteMed EHR to facilitate receipt of patient data from ALR Technologies' patented Health-E-Connect patient monitoring system. This data can be important for care plan evaluation, monitoring services billing and reimbursement as well as lending to the "meaningful use" criteria for government funding to medical clinics for implementation of EHRs.

Study reveals that Europe must change perspectives towards food security

A new report by leading food and sustainability scientists calls for Europe to take a new approach on food security, prioritizing health and sustainability in research and using a holistic view when making policy. The report has been jointly chaired by Peter Raspor, professor of food science and technology at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia and Rudy Rabbinge, professor of sustainable development and systems innovation at Wageningen University, the Netherlands.

Nursing Home

A nursing home (also called skilled nursing facility) is a facility or distinct part of an institution whose primary function is to provide medical, continuous nursing, and other health and social services to patients who are not in an acute phase of illness requiring services in a hospital, but who require primary restorative or skilled nursing services on an inpatient basis above the level of intermediate or custodial care in order to reach a degree of body functioning to permit self care in essential daily living.

A skilled nursing facility (SNF) may be a freestanding facility or part of a hospital that has been certified by Medicare to admit patients requiring subacute care and rehabilitation.
