Jazz enrolls first patients in JZP-110 Phase 3 study for treatment of EDS in patients with narcolepsy or OSA

Jazz Pharmaceuticals plc announced today that the first patients have been enrolled in a Phase 3 clinical development program evaluating the safety and efficacy of its investigational drug candidate, JZP-110, as a wake-promoting agent in the treatment of excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) in adult patients with narcolepsy or with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).

Poland Spring Water supports Kingfield helipad construction

Poland Spring Water Company joined first responders and firefighters from Franklin County yesterday for the inaugural emergency training and helicopter landing at the recently constructed Kingfield helipad. Poland Spring donated $6,500 to the Fireman's Association of Franklin County and helped secure Tax Increment Financing (TIF) money to build and pave the helipad, now located behind the Kingfield Fire Station.

Genetic makeup may detemine likely success of quit smoking therapies

A study by researchers at the Transdisciplinary Tobacco Use Research Center (TTURC) of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine indicates that a smoker's genetic make-up may affect whether they quit or not while using either bupropion (Zyban) or nicotine replacement therapies (NRTs) such as the nicotine patch or nasal spray.

A nursing home (also called skilled nursing facility) is a facility or distinct part of an institution whose primary function is to provide medical, continuous nursing, and other health and social services to patients who are not in an acute phase of illness requiring services in a hospital, but who require primary restorative or skilled nursing services on an inpatient basis above the level of intermediate or custodial care in order to reach a degree of body functioning to permit self care in essential daily living.

A skilled nursing facility (SNF) may be a freestanding facility or part of a hospital that has been certified by Medicare to admit patients requiring subacute care and rehabilitation.
