Frost & Sullivan announced today it has presented the 2010 Europe Product Quality Leadership Award in the Remote Patient Monitoring Market to Robert Bosch Healthcare. The Product Quality Leadership Award is given to the company that has excelled in product performance, reliability, design, usability and perceived value. Bosch Healthcare's telehealth systems, which include the Health Buddy® patient interface and Bosch Telehealth Plus System, are designed to optimize providers' operations and approach to care, while improving the way patients with chronic illness manage their disease.
Researchers from Massachusetts Eye and Ear/Harvard Medical School have identified inflammatory factors that cause optic neuropathy in the back of the eye following implantation of a keratoprosthesis (KPro) — similar to what glaucoma patients experience, without the rise of pressure in the eye — and have shown that blocking one of those factors, tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFa), successfully halts the development of optic nerve damage in a mouse model.
The newest research device at The William and Ida Friday Institute for Educational Innovation looks more like something out of a science fiction movie than a tool for discovering learning patterns.
