Researchers at Ohio State University have surveyed previous studies to investigate the relationship between traumatic brain injuries and alcohol abuse.
Researchers at UPF are testing a new non-invasive method of stimulating the vagus nerve in mice that improves their memory.
"Cigarette smoking is an important cause of cardiovascular disease, and smoking cessation reduces the risk. However, weight gain after smoking cessation may increase the risk of diabetes and weaken the benefit of quitting," write Juhua Luo, Ph.D., of the Indiana University School of Public Health, Bloomington, Ind., and colleagues.
BSD Medical Corporation, a leading provider of medical systems that treat cancer and benign diseases using heat therapy, today reported financial results for its second fiscal quarter ended February 28, 2011.
Researchers found a negative association between the number of excess deaths during the first wave of the epidemic and the number of second-wave cases. This could be because of both a sort of herd immunity and changes in behavioral response.
