Investigators at Boston University School of Medicine have identified that lack of time and a paucity of trained faculty are perceived as the most significant barriers to incorporating complementary and alternative medicine and integrative medicine training into family medicine residency curricula and training programs.
On Friday 17th May 2013 the NCC Home Learning team joined together with the "hats 4 headway day" campaign to raise money for Action for Brain Injury (ABI) Week. NCC Home Learning delved deep into their clothing collections to don their craziest head gear.
Biologists have long known that an enzyme called the PI 3-kinase is a crucial actor in the main molecular pathway for insulin signaling in cells. Researchers at Joslin Diabetes Center now have uncovered startling evidence that one of the proteins in this enzyme also drives a pathway with an opposite result-triggering a stress response that leads to insulin resistance.
Men with prostate cancer, particularly those receiving hormone therapy, may face an increased risk of blood clots or 'thromboembolism', scientists at King's College London have found.
