Personal health records have great potential to help patients manage their health, but technology needs to be designed with the patient in mind - which means doing more than helping patients access health information, according to an editorial by two Virginia Commonwealth University family medicine physicians published in the Jan.19 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association.
Familial spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA), Huntington disease, and spinal and bulbar muscular atrophy are inherited neurodegenerative diseases.
According to the most recent census, 22% of American children live at or below the poverty line. In many cases, their families cannot provide the diapers they need because diapers, which can cost as much as $100 a month, cannot be bought with the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, commonly known as "food stamps") or the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children.
The debate over Darwin rages on in America's heartland as intelligent design comes to the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History September 29th with the Southwestern debut of Darwin's Dilemma, a new film on the challenges to evolution in the fossil record.
