Actavis Inc., today began shipping Tamsulosin capsules to its customers in the United States. The generic equivalent to Flomax®, Tamsulosin is used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Actavis is partnering with Synthon Pharmaceuticals to launch and market Tamsulosin capsules in the United States.
One to five percent of college students develop infectious mononucleosis each year, and about 10 percent are diagnosed six months later with chronic fatigue syndrome - a complex condition involving severe fatigue coupled with disabling cognitive and musculoskeletal symptoms.
The air in the United States is much cleaner than even a decade ago. But those improvements have come mainly in summer, the season that used to be the poster child for haze-containing particles that cause asthma, lung cancer and other illnesses.
In a trial that included more than 150,000 participants, those who underwent annual chest radiographic screening for up to 4 years did not have a significantly lower rate of death from lung cancer compared to participants who were not screened, according to a study in the November 2 issue of JAMA.
