Keeping pace with the growth in clinical applications for whole slide imaging and digital pathology, the College of American Pathologists, in collaboration with the American Society for Clinical Pathology and the Association for Pathology Informatics, is updating its 2013 guideline "Validating Whole Slide Imaging for Diagnostic Purposes in Pathology."
An extraordinary percentage of people infected by the virus behind the ongoing deadly COVID-19 pandemic never show symptoms of the disease, according to the results of a Scripps Research analysis of public datasets on asymptomatic infections.
Therefore, the nose is an important target for prophylaxis and also for therapy. In a recent study posted to the bioRxiv* preprint server, Fabio Fais et al. developed a safe and easy-to-use nasal spray, AM-301, a medical device marketed as Bentrio, to protect against infection by SARS-CoV-2 and potentially other viruses.
Researchers at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center will soon begin researching how a lack of trust in formal medicine is contributing to disproportionately higher mortality rates in Latino HIV patients than in white HIV patients across the country.
