Virtual Radiologic (vRad) and NightHawk Radiology today announced the completion of their previously announced merger, with NightHawk continuing as a wholly owned subsidiary of vRad. Under the terms of the merger agreement, vRad, a technology-enabled national radiology practice and leader in the development of radiologist workflow technology, acquired all of the outstanding shares of NightHawk for $6.50 per share in cash.
A new study by researchers at Stanford University and Ascend Clinical Laboratory and published in the journal The Lancet in September 2020 reports the prevalence of antibodies to the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) virus in a dialysis patient population in the US.
"In recent weeks, the emergence on the Thai-Myanmar border of malaria strains resistant to artemisinin, a plant-derived drug, have led to pessimistic headlines and reminders of the setback caused by resistance to the drug chloroquine, which began in the 1950s," columnist and author Matt Ridley writes in the Wall Street Journal's "Mind & Matter," noting, "April 25 is World Malaria Day, designed to draw attention to the planet's biggest infectious killer."

A new imaging platform developed by Lawson Health Research Institute's Drs. Ann Chambers and John Lewis is providing insight into just that - the exact moment when cancer cells turn deadly.

Ingrown toenails are among the most common problems that result from high heels. This condition, also known as onychocryptosis, occurs when the toes compress together making the big toenails grow into the skin.
