In a new study emphasis has been placed on where children should be seated in a car and though it may seem common-sense or a case of stating the blindingly obvious, the report is a reminder to parents to consciously recognise that children are safer in car crashes when they sit in the back seat and are less likely to be injured when safety seats and seat belts are used.
U.S. foreign policy should should rely more on diplomacy and "soft power," Admiral Mike Mullen, chair of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, said in a speech at Kansas State University on Wednesday, Agence France-Presse reports. "U.S. foreign policy is still too dominated by the military - too dependent upon the generals and admirals who lead our major overseas commands and not enough on the State Department," Mullen said, the AFP reports.
A first-of-its-kind study examining the long-term economic consequences of childhood psychological disorders finds the conditions diminish people's ability to work and earn as adults, costing $2.1 trillion over the lifetimes of all affected Americans.
