Abortions-Rights advocates are pressing lawmakers through new ad campaigns to keep a provision restricting abortion coverage in the House-passed health bill - the so-called Stupak amendment - out of the Senate health care bill, CBS News reports.
Using data from commercial insurance claims of working-aged adults, new research published in the December issue of The American Journal of Accountable Care found that chronic opioid therapy for noncancer pain is associated with increased healthcare spending as well as hospital stays.
The latest estimates on smoking prevalence from the Global Burden of Disease collaboration show that although tobacco control programmes have been effective, the ever increasing population has meant worldwide smoking prevalence is still on the increase.
