There may be a biological reason why depression and other stress-related psychiatric disorders are more common among women compared to men. Studying stress signaling systems in animal brains, neuroscience researchers found that females are more sensitive to low levels of an important stress hormone and less able to adapt to high levels than males.
IDEXX Laboratories, Inc., today reported that revenues for the second quarter of 2011 increased 13% to $317.9 million, from $281.5 million for the second quarter of 2010. Organic revenue growth, as defined below, was 8%.
Magellan Health Services, Inc. today reported financial results for the third quarter of 2010, as summarized below, and increased guidance for the full year. For the quarter ended September 30, 2010, the Company reported net revenue of $750.3 million, segment profit of $90.1 million, and net income of $44.8 million or $1.31 per diluted common share.
