Two New York University faculty have been awarded fellowships from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation: Roozbeh Kiani, an assistant professor at NYU's Center for Neural Science, and Nicholas Stavropoulos, an assistant professor of neuroscience and physiology at NYU Langone Medical Center and its Neuroscience Institute.
The National Institute on Drug Abuse has awarded UCLA a $7 million grant to investigate the links between substance abuse and HIV among Latino and African-American men who have sex with men.
In a Daily Caller opinion piece, Richard Tren, director of Africa Fighting Malaria, highlights a finding in a recent malaria report that the U.S. government and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation "were responsible for 85% of the steep increase in malaria funding between 2007 and 2009."
