Doing a little detective work can go a long way in finding skin cancer, the most common form of cancer diagnosed in the United States, at its earliest, most treatable stage. However, a new survey found that many people do not know how to spot skin cancer and are unaware of their risk of developing the disease.
At the American Association for Cancer Research 2013 Annual Meeting (Booths 1513, 1424) PerkinElmer, Inc., a global leader focused on improving the health and safety of people and the environment, will showcase a full suite of solutions designed to accelerate cancer research.
A new method of radiation treatment may improve the local control of breast cancer significantly which, is very important to cancer sufferers because it can preserve the breast and may also reduce the spread of the disease.
The reason Children's Medical Research Institute (CMRI) exists is to find ways to treat or prevent childhood disease. Our research programs are focussed on the areas of cancer cell growth, nerve cell signalling, embryology and gene therapy. These four programs have a shared aim of translating novel findings into new treatments for the benefit of families everywhere.
