Lack of sleep has previously been found to impact the activation of the immune system, inflammation, carbohydrate metabolism and the hormones that regulate appetite. Now University of Helsinki researchers have found that sleep loss also influences cholesterol metabolism.
PROLOR Biotech, Inc., today announced that the company will present new data on its long-acting human growth hormone (hGH-CTP) in Phase III development for the treatment of growth hormone deficiency and its long acting oxyntomodulin (MOD-6030) in preclinical development for the treatment of obesity and type 2 diabetes at ENDO 2013, the 95th Annual Meeting of the Endocrine Society.
The importance of an adequate motor coordination level in childhood has recently reemerged. In literature on motor skill development, the focus is mostly on the proficiency/competence level in movement skills. Local researchers are finally on the road to developing targeted treatments for serious, life-long disabilities such as autism and schizophrenia, thanks to new genomics research focusing on abnormal brain development.
