A study conducted by USANA Health Sciences, in conjunction with Intermountain Healthcare's The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital (TOSH), found that taking a daily vitamin D supplement is the best way to improve vitamin D levels in the body.
People with both high and low levels of magnesium in their blood may have a greater risk of developing dementia, according to a study published in the September 20, 2017, online issue of Neurology, the medical journal of the American Academy of Neurology.
Whitehead Institute scientists have developed a method to quickly isolate and systematically measure metabolite concentrations within the cellular organelles known as mitochondria, often referred to as the "powerhouses of the cell."
Rich countries could follow the lead of poor countries and adopt a more systematic way of selecting medicines for reimbursement, according to a paper in this week's BMJ.
