Nasdaq Stock Market issues delisting notice to Metabasis Therapeutics

Metabasis Therapeutics, Inc. (Nasdaq:MBRX) announced today that on September 4, 2009 it received a letter from the Listing Qualifications Staff of The Nasdaq Stock Market (the "Staff") notifying the Company that it did not comply with the minimum $2,500,000 stockholders' equity requirement for continued listing, set forth in Listing Rule 5550(b), prior to the expiration of the extension for such compliance granted by the Staff on June 25, 2009, and that as a result, unless the Company requests an appeal of the Staff's delisting determination, trading of the Company's common stock on the Nasdaq Capital Market will be suspended at the opening of business on September 15, 2009.

Chelsea presents Northera study data at International Congress on Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders

Chelsea Therapeutics International, Ltd. announced that data from its pivotal studies of Northeraâ„¢ (droxidopa) in symptomatic neurogenic orthostatic hypotension was presented during a poster session and featured in a symposium highlighting the role of norepinephrine (NE) deficiency in Parkinson's disease at the 14th International Congress on Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Preliminary study suggests nitric oxide may be a potential treatment for COVID-19 respiratory failure

New research led by Devang K. Sanghavi of the Mayo Clinic in Florida, USA, suggests pre-intubation use of nitric oxide for patients with COVID-19–related hypoxemic respiratory may help reduce patients' mortality. Their findings show that inhaling nitric oxide in this patient population could reduce the need for future intubation and other invasive mechanical ventilation.

Emergent BioSolutions acquires 55,000 square foot manufacturing facility from MdBio Foundation

Emergent BioSolutions Inc. announced today that it has completed the acquisition of a 55,000 square foot manufacturing facility from MdBio Foundation and the land on which the facility stands from the City of Baltimore for a total purchase price of $8.2 million. The facility, located within the City of Baltimore, Maryland, previously operated as a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) licensed facility used by an experienced contract manufacturing organization (CMO) to produce a number of FDA approved products.

Occupational Therapists: An occupational therapist is a person who has graduated from an entry-level occupational therapy program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) or predecessor organizations, or approved by the World Federation of Occupational Therapists (WFOT), or an equivalent international occupational therapy education program; has successfully completed a period of supervised fieldwork experience required by the occupational therapy program; has passed a nationally recognized entry-level examination for occupational therapists, and fulfills state requirements for licensure, certification, or registration.
