Dapagliflozin with metformin reduces glycosylated hemoglobin level and body weight

Results from a 24-week phase 3 clinical study demonstrated that the investigational drug dapagliflozin, added to metformin, demonstrated significant mean reductions in the primary endpoint, glycosylated hemoglobin level (HbA1c) and in the secondary endpoint, fasting plasma glucose (FPG) in patients with type 2 diabetes inadequately controlled with metformin alone, as compared to placebo plus metformin.

HOYA reports 26.4% increase in fourth-quarter 2010 net sales

HOYA Corporation today announced financial results for the fourth quarter and fiscal year ended March 31, 2010. Net sales were 104.8 billion yen for the quarter, representing an increase of 26.4% from 82.9 billion yen in the same period last year, mainly due to a recovery in orders in the main business fields such as Electro-Optics, as well as the cost-reduction achieved through structural reform.
