Appropriate use of testing is a hot topic in medicine as physicians and hospitals look for ways to improve quality while containing cost to achieve high-value care. To coincide with World Hepatitis Day, a new report, commissioned by United European Gastroenterology, calls for all European countries to adopt universal vaccination and harmonised screening programmes for hepatitis, as well as improved neonatal screening, to help speed up the eradication of the disease.

New research revealed today by the National SAFE KIDS Campaign and Johnson & Johnson shows that 88 percent of children who drowned were under the supervision of another person, usually a family member. Supervision was defined as being in the care of another individual, not necessarily in their direct line of sight.
