Asuragen, Inc. announced today the results of a collaborative study with scientists at the M.I.N.D. Institute at the University of California Davis evaluating a new PCR technology that reproducibly reports mutations associated with Fragile X syndrome (FXS).
Nearly half of all cancer patients receive radiation therapy to curb the growth of malignant cells. On Friday September 28th, a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Ophthalmic Devices Advisory Panel unanimously voted 19-0 that the probable benefit of the Argus II Retinal Prosthesis System outweighs the risks to health, an important step toward the FDA market approval of this product manufactured by Second Sight Medical Products, Inc.
Performance-enhancing drugs are synonymous with the names of elite athletes including Alex Rodriguez and Ryan Braun. In reality, major league athletes make up only a fraction of the nation's 3 million performance-enhancing drug users.
