Researchers at the University of Georgia have discovered a central switch that controls whether cells move or remain stationary. The misregulation of this switch may play a role in the increased movement of tumor cells and in the aggressiveness of tumors themselves.
A team led by Massachusetts General Hospital researchers has identified a genetic signature that appears to reflect the risk of tumor recurrence or spread in men surgically treated for prostate cancer.
In a paper published by Research Involvement and Engagement, the University of Surrey and its partners highlight the importance and value of "lived experience" that only people in prison can provide to shape meaningful research and policy decisions.
"When it comes to getting aid right, an all-too-familiar problem seems to be balancing the priorities of rich governments with what communities actually want," AlertNet reports in an article examining an essay written by Oxford University researcher Devi Sridhar and published in PLOS Medicine.
