Clinical Data, Inc. today announced operational and financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2010, noting key accomplishments including the acceptance of the Company's new drug application (NDA) for vilazodone by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the successful completion of a public offering .
InVivo Therapeutics Corporation CEO Frank Reynolds will be honored by the Irish Voice and Irish America Magazine, in collaboration with the Irish Government, as one of the 'Irish Life Science 50.' The award is the first honor to be given to influential Irish Americans for their work in the field of life sciences and is aimed to recognize "diverse accomplishments and advancements in the industry," according the Irish Voice.
Johns Hopkins researchers say they have discovered one of the most important cellular mechanisms driving the growth and progression of meningioma, the most common form of brain and spinal cord tumor. A report on the discovery, published in the journal Molecular Cancer Research, could lead the way to the discovery of better drugs to attack these crippling tumors, the scientists say.
Approximately 10-20 percent of diagnosed breast cancers are found to be triple-negative, meaning the breast cancer cells test negative for estrogen and progesterone receptors as well as HER2 receptors, genes that can play a role in the development of breast cancer.
