The U.S. Department of Defense recently awarded more than $18 million in funding to a unit of Lonza Group, Ltd. for the development and commercialization of the therapeutic candidate, PermaDerm™ for the treatment of severe burns among U.S. troops and civilians. The funding was announced at a conference celebrating advancements in regenerative medicine on November 9th in Walkersville, MD.
The available evidence is too sparse or of insufficient quality to determine whether the majority of health problems that may be experienced by Gulf War veterans could be associated with exposures to fuels for military vehicles, propellents in Scud missiles, or substances given off by combustion sources such as oil-well fires, exhausts, and tent heaters
Nasal irrigation has been widely used by rhinologists in treating sinonasal diseases.
A pioneer of emergency medical care who taught at the University of Leicester has been honoured at an international ceremony for his distinguished services to medicine.
While this is hardly life-threatening, the doctors say sock-line bands in some cases developed at just one week leaving raised, reddish markings around the ankle or leg.
